Parish theme for November ~ "Apostle - St. Matthias"

*         Replace Judas as he was with the apostles from the baptism of John and had witnessed the Resurrection of Jesus.

*         He was chosen by lot after the apostles prayed to God.

*         One early church father said he had been one of the Seventy.   Another thinks he is Zacchaeus of Jericho.

*         Matthias was only mentioned once in the entire New Testament.

*         Possibly he ministered in Armenia before martyred in Jerusalem in 51 AD.
