14th Sunday in Ordinary Time – July 7, 2013

 

"Be Strong, Be Wise, Be faithful"  Annual Summer Live-In Retreat will be held by Canadian Martyrs Prayer Community for youth and young adults ages 13-28 years old from Aug 2-4 (Fri-Sun) at Aldcez Gardens Retreat House in Ladner.  Dynamic and awe inspiring speakers include Clayton Imoo, Director, Office of Youth Ministry from the diocese, worship, Holy Mass, outdoor activities, games and lots of great food.  Cost $50 each, space is limited, registration starts next week.

 

Camp Son Shine  will start this Monday.     Please remember to bring your child lunch bag. 

 

Parish Pastoral Council    will be held on Jul 19 (Fri) 7:30 p.m.  Each parish group should send at least one member to the meeting.

 

Sr. Beatrice Mak     In appreciation to Sr. Mak for her dedication to our church during all these years, a thanksgiving dinner will be held on Jul 31 (Wed) 6:30 p.m. at Gingeri Restaurant.  Tickets are available at the Parish Office or call William at 604-351-8289.

 

Adult Catechism (RCIA) 2013-2014

For inquirers and Catholics preparing for confirmation.

In Cantonese          from Sep 11 (Wednesday)          7-9 p.m.

In English                from Sep 12  (Thursday)              7-8:30 p.m.

In Mandarin           from Sep 14  (Saturday)              3-5 p.m.

 

PREP Children Catechism PREP in English Classes for Gr. 1-7 will begin from Sep 11 (every Wednesday) from 7:00-8:15 p.m.

Registration forms are available at the Info Counter.

 

Summer Sale    Coming on Aug 17.  Donation of new items is welcome.  Rental tables are available at $25.

 

Welcome all Visitors            Catholics who bring their non-Catholic friends for Mass are reminded that non-Catholics cannot receive Communion.  They can ask for a blessing instead.

 

Church Landscaping          Volunteers are needed.  Please contact Parish Office.

 

Summer Dress Code    Decent wear is the Sunday best.  Coming to church is not going to party, but to offer solemn worship to God.

 

ESL Class  Both beginners and intermediate classes will take the summer leave from Jul 17 to early Sep.
