Christmas Gift Religious items can remind people the true meaning of Christmas. Come to our Gift Shop and take a look.
We miss you this Christmas In his recent apostolic exhortation, Pope Francis asked us to “To forth from our own comfort zone” in order to reach others. Christmas is a natural opportunity to invite non-practicing Catholics to reconnect with their faith. This Advent, why not invite one person to Mass at Christmas; what greater gift is there than Jesus?
Rite of Welcoming Please pray for our candidates who are preparing for Confirmation next Easter. May God enlighten their hearts and strengthen their will to follow Him.
Moving Forward Together Campaign As a part of campaign for healing and reconciliation for our aboriginal brothers and sisters, the second collection today will help fund ongoing healing and education program to help build a brighter future for them within Canada, through the Talitha Khoum Society and St. Kateri Centre in our archdiocese.

A Word from Fr. Paul
This Sunday (Dec 8) is the exact date of my ordination 20 years ago. Besides thanking God for calling me to be his servant, I also would like to thank all of you in this parish in which I spent 16 of my 20 years of priesthood. Thank you for bearing with me, and encouraging me in my pastoral work. I have learnt so much from you. Your enthusiastic faith, unconditional support and great willingness to serve have always inspired me again and again. May we journey together in faith toward God .
I firmly believe that your prayers for me helped me to become who I am now. Jesus told us “To be perfect” and I know how far I am from it, and how challenging it is to me. I beg you to continue to pray for me, and through the grace of God, we may grow in holiness and in turn sanctify one another. Yours, Fr. Paul Chu
2014 Donation Envelope is ready for pick up at the front of courtyard. Registered parishioners are encouraged to use the numbered donation envelope.
Share your Views on Marriage and Family Pope Francis has called an Extraordinary Synod in 2014 for the pastoral care of marriages and the family. In preparation, His Holiness has asked Bishops to collect responses to a series of questions and forward their findings to the Vatican. In addition to meeting with priests and leaders of ministries to couples and families to gather their responses, the Archdiocese of Vancouver is asking for responses from any Catholics who may be motivated to respond.
The document and questions are in www.rcav.org/synodresponse2013. We anticipate a large number of responses and ask responders to focus on two or three questions only and to keep responses to 2 typed page (500 words) or less. Please email responses with ”Synod” in the subject line to synod@rcav.org or mail to Synod Consultation, Office of Life, Marriage & Family, 150 Robson Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6B 2A7 before this Friday, 13th.
